Frequently asked questions
The things travellers ask us most often.
When does my plan start counting down?
Validity starts the first time the profile connects to a network at your destination, not when you buy it. Installing early costs you nothing.
Can I keep my own number?
Yes. The travel profile handles data; your home SIM stays active for calls and SMS. Leave both enabled and set the travel profile as your data line.
Does tethering work?
On most plans, yes — your phone can share the connection with a laptop or a travelling companion. A handful of carriers block it, and the plan page says so when they do.
What if I run out of data?
Buy another plan for the same destination and install it. There is no penalty for stacking profiles, and the new one takes over when you select it.
Can I get a refund?
Unused profiles marked refundable can be cancelled before first activation. Once a profile has connected to a network it has been consumed and cannot be refunded.
My phone says the eSIM cannot be added.
That is almost always a carrier lock rather than a hardware limit. Ask your home operator to unlock the handset, then scan the code again.
